Today was the 5K Making Strides Walk. Next year I plan on getting my act together much earlier. I did have my granddaughter and her friend to accompany me and I was surprised that on my own I had received several nice donations to turn in. My granddaughter even surprised me with some homade t-shirts for the occaision.
It was a beautiful morning and, as last year, I was completely amazed at the wonderful turnout. I felt the tears come to my eyes on several occaisions when I saw the throngs of people walking. I remember that last year I didn't have any hair and just wore a cap. I saw others today in that same predicament. All had a smile on their face and hope in their heart.
An added note: I saw the oncologist on Thursday for my 3 month checkup. He was very understanding about my problems with the aromatase inhibitors. He gave me some samples of Aromasin and wants me back in six weeks to see how I am doing with them. He said there is a certain percentage that have bad side effects that can't be tolerated. Since I really hope to find one that I can tolerate, I will start the Aromasin tomorrow.
To all my sisters out there, I said a prayer for all of you today as I walked.
Love and prayers, Esther

Esther,
Great to hear your walk today went just as well and was even more inspiring and supportive for you and all who walked right along with you again this year - how wonderful. Thanks for sharing this unique experience with us. Keep writing!
Good luck with your change in medication. Let us know how it goes.
Best,
Maria
