Most oncologists now are thinking of breast cancer as at least four diseases based on endocrine features - luminal A, luminal B, Her2 positive and the so called "triple negative" - breast cancers that express neither estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors nor Her2 receptors. These...

After a lumpectomy and a mastectomy in Sept.2007,I was diagnosed with Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma of the left breast.Tumour grade 1(1+2+1=4/9 points).

    Tubular fotmation--2

Mitotic activity---1 Lymphatic and vascular invasion---Absent

    Lymphocytic response---Severe.

My Receptor test came out as follows:-

    Estrogen Receptor Score: 60

    Progesterone Receptor Score:- 50

    Opinion

    Estrogen Receptor:-Weakly Positive

    Progesterone Receptor:-Weakly Positive Breast Carcinoma

    Result: C-erb-B2(Her-2/Her-2/Neu) Oncoprotein:1+

Breast and Lymph Nodes Histopathology Report

    Opinion

HW746-07:Metastatic Carcinoma (Left Axillary Lymph Nodes)

HW747-07: Residual Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma (Left Breast)

    Lymphnodes-7/7 involved.

I've had 8 infusions of chemotherapy,4 of AC and 4 of Taxol. After a four weeks break I'll be starting on radiotherapy of the chest wall and remaining axillary lymphnodes.

My doctor doesn't make any commitment about the chances of my recovery, although the board's reviewal places my tumour as being at Grade I and says my cancer isn't metastatic.Actually I had the lumpectomy and mastectomy as well as histapathology of both lump and breast done in a different city before coming over to this hospital of international repute.Doctor,I know you don't deal with individual cases here, but I'd be greatly obliged if after looking at the above results you could give me an idea of what my chances of recovery are.

    Thank you ever so much.

You know I really wish I could give you a prognosis, but I think it's not permitted by

the sponsor due to legal issue.  I do think, though, that your oncologist should give you a good estimate if you ask him/her - and of course I hope you are going to be cured.

As a triple negative patient who so far has not responded to Taxotere and is now on AC, I'm wondering what the purpose of your slight comment might be? Is there anything new in it? Do you get recognition or money or a promotion for posting something, no matter how slight and insignificant? I guess my question is: why even bother to post something so fluffy?
