Eating grapefruit linked to increase in breast cancer risk

  • The British Journal of Cancer has reported a link between grapefruit and breast cancer. A study of 50,000 postmenopausal women found that eating grapefruit every day could increase the risk of breast cancer by nearly one-third. Grapefruit is believed to raise levels of oestrogen, the hormone associated with a higher risk of breast cancer.
