2005, Me Pre-Cancer

9/6/2007-- I just posted some pics to my profile, and a few below.

Wow, did cancer ever change me looks-wise. There is one photo where you definately can see a drooping in one side of my face.

During Chemo: Billiard Ball Hairdo

I developed Bells Palsy at one point, a shock and surprise to all my docs. But all is well now. I have a nasty thyroid condition (and I'm sure chemo didn't help it) that causes me weight gain. But y'know, large or small, hair or not..my heart never changed, nor my personality.

I'm still Leslie, through and through.

I had straight styled hair when I started chemo. Two weeks later I shaved it off when it started coming out in clumps.

Since it's grown in...it was salt and pepper grey! I colored it and now have blondy brown CURLS. I never had curly hair in my life!

Hi, Leslie. Thanks for writing and sharing all you have with us. You have a neat perspective on having breast cancer and how it affects - and doesn't affect - your life. Good for you.

I thought you'd enjoy this article:

As you've said, cancer may change your body, but it doesn't have to change your heart and who you are.

This is my mother. I am her daughter Michelle, it breaks my heart to this day to see my mom with no hair on her head during her chemo! She was a VERY strong woman with all that she endured through her breast cancer battle. I hope that you never have to go through what you went through ever again. I love you mom and always will no matter what. You showed me how fast one's life can change and how we all need to care for and cherish our loved one's because they can be taken away from us so quickly and live every day as if it were your last! Love you-Michelle
