Just Diagnosed with Cancer? Chat with Experts

Minnesota Public Radio interested in Cancer Stories

By koponen Friday, November 21, 2008

Hey Ladies,

If anyone is interested - Minnesota Public Radio is putting the call out for stories, information, etc.  Maria, PJ...this might be good for you two to field!  I'll copy paste the "call out" below - Hope everyone is doing well.  I'll write more later when I have more time!

Koponen (Sandy)

Right now MPR News wants to keep in touch with the latest issues surrounding cancer. Coping with cancer is so much more than the statistics. That's why we want to hear from people who are dealing with it every day.

I am sure that you have some important and telling insights into experiences, lives, and trends.  We would love to learn from you.  If you treat cancer, what are the advances and trends you see? How is your field changing? If you or a loved one is a patient or a survivor, what should people know who have never had cancer touch their lives? What are the surprises, breakthroughs or challenges you have faced? Do you ever look at reporting by the press on cancer treatments, cancer research or advances in dealing with the disease and wonder... why do these reporters miss the real story?

You can help. We ask for your insights, experiences and knowledge when it comes to this important health topic.

Please click here to share them. (the direct Web address is http://tinyurl.com/MPRcancer)

We would also really appreciate it if you could help us reach different people living with, recovering from, caring for, or even funding projects related to cancer.  You could pass along this email, or post it on a blog or webpage.  This kind of help and insights like these are imperative to our newsroom creating relevant and inclusive news coverage.  We hope that you can help us.

Thanks so much, and I look forward to learning from your insights.

Best,
Whitney Stark
