Hello again ladies. Someone here has inspired me and given me a great idea. I'm so excited! Ladies tell me what you think about this...   I was thinking about getting as many women together to march, here in Atlanta, for a problem many women are having with their insurance company. A...

    Mika,

Nice idea! Better yet, march with pink wigs at a presidential-campaign-trail gathering point for even greater exposure, with HUGE signs that draw attention to breast cancer advocacy, prevention and research. You're brilliant!

    Best,

    Maria

How about marching bald!  Unless, of course, the weather is sunny or cold.  You don't realize how important hair is for protecting the scalp from the sun and for keeping you warm until you're bald.  Unfortunately, many insurance companies aren't very good about providing any kind of prosthesis, not just wigs.  My first insurance company paid for one prosthesis in full, but not for replacements.  I asked what they would do for little kids who were double amputees, and was told they got one per lifetime just like anyone else.  Other insurance policies I've had since then, have had varying policies, but have usually provided replacements once a year but not paying for the entire bill.  I wasn't covered for wigs.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, this is true, we need hair. And its ridiculous how the insurance companies ignore such an important issue like this. We have to do something about it! Marching bald is a great idea but family and friends may not be bald. If we all wear pink wigs it will stand out because even family and friends can participate.
