Just wanted to say Hi!

Hello ladies! I haven't been here in awhile so I was just dropping by to say hello to everyone. I've been so busy with Pink Barrette, trying to get everything together nationally. I'm currently applying for more and more grants. So, the wigs that I've given away lately has come directly from my pockets. Hopefully more grant funding will come through which will help more women.

I just wanted to let you know that I'm working hard for...

If you are having problems with your insurance company please read...

Hello again ladies. Someone here has inspired me and given me a great idea. I'm so excited! Ladies tell me what you think about this...

I was thinking about getting as many women together to march, here in Atlanta, for a problem many women are having with their insurance company. As many of you already know, many insurance companies cover wigs as a "cranial prosthesis." They have a set way that you submit your claim for...

Today I cried...

This morning I spoke with a very nice lady who wants, no needs, to get a wig for her friend's daughter, who at 42 has terminal cancer. I don't have enough funding this month for another free wig but I'm doing it anyway. We worked out a really good agreement and everything's going to be fine. Well, I went to her blog and I read everything she's experiencing. She is an amazing woman. My heart goes out to her, her family, and all of you going...

What do you think of my new wig?

Hello ladies! If you read my last post you know that I started a non-profit organization that provides free wigs to women with cancer and alopecia. Well I don't just give them away I also can make a wig myself. The picture below is my latest creation. Its Brazilian hair and naturally this color. I just put it on but haven't styled it yet. I wear wigs all the time. Literally I only take them off to wash my hair and my wig. Wigs became my favorite...

Cancer wigs...

Hello, my name is Mika. I started a free wig program for women suffering from hair loss caused by cancer treatments and alopecia. I decided to start this program based on the need for a good replacement for a woman's real hair. My first client was my little cousin who lost all her hair due to ovarian cancer. She went to her prom with a bald head because she would rather go to prom bald than wear one of those "ugly wigs" from a cancer wig store...
