I have two left feet; my son Channing is a fantastic dancer.  So what could be more terrifying than having almost a hundred people watching us dance?    Not dancing.   When I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in April 1998, Channing was seventeen, and o...

I'm glad you had that special dance with Channing. So many years to get here, years of uncertainty. But you didn't give up hope, and there you were, two left feet and all - dancing at your son's wedding. Never give up. Never ever ever ever ever give up. May you dance at a grandchild's wedding, too! If my grandson waits as long as his mother to marry, I'd be in my 90's!  But my mother was 86 when she danced at our daughter's wedding, so as you say, there is always hope!Smile

Phyllis, it never ceases to amaze me how close I feel to people like you and PJ all the way over there on the other side of the Pacific. As I go through the last stages of my treatment, I want to thank you for the inspiration. It was so good for me to know, just after I was diagnosed, that you were there as a survivor of IBC. It allowed me to keep the nasty IBC statistics in perspective and stay positive and hopeful. I guess, with the numbers so small, those of us who beat IBC are changing the survival stats right now. It will be wonderful when there is no difference in chances of survival for any woman with BC.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your son's wedding. It must have been a truly joyous occasion. Thanks for sharing it with us and for all your generous contributions to this site.

Thank you, Sue.  You have added so much to our discussion at this site.  Your ability to face enormous challenges with a sense of humor is inspiring.  I hope all goes well as you finish up treatment.
