At a Glance

Over 40,000 women die per year in the United States from breast cancer.  This staggering figure can be lowered through early detection and awareness.  It is estimated that 80 percent of women diagnosed with breast cancer survive five years or more.  The prognosis varies based on a variety of factors, including location of the tumor, the type of tumor, size and shape of the tumor and other biologic markers.
