Just Diagnosed with Cancer? Chat with Experts

Thursday, August 04, 2011 lollipop asks

Q: I have been reading about a Titanium Allergy blood test that is available to find out if one is allergic to the titanium marker that is inserted into the breast after a biopsy. We live on Long Island

The name of the blood test is the Melisa test. Does anyone know anything about that? Where to go, information? Thanks

Your doctor would have to order the Melisa test - it's not something you can access on your own. Here's the Melisa Web site, if you'd like to show it to your doctor... Best of luck to you. PJH
