Hello,  I am 17  years old and I noticed a week and a half ago that my left nipple is inverted.  It was not like this before.  Should I be worried that this is a sign of cancer?  I have scheduled an appt for the doctor but it is in a few days.  I just want some information that could give me some peace of mind.

Hi Denise - Congratulations for being aware of changes in your breast -that's how we protect ourselves, as we get older. That said - an inverted nipple can indeed be a sign of breast cancer, but at your age - incredibly unlikely. It's possible to have breast cancer at 17, just as it's possible to win the Powerball lottery; just not probable. I'mglad you're having it checked out, though - always a good idea. Relax - and good luck. PJH
