Just Diagnosed with Cancer? Chat with Experts

Q: When will I grow breasts?

I always remember that I am a year younger than all of my classmates, but I still feel selfconscience. I have looked at other sites to see when I will get my period and stuff, but I can not tell. I have some of the puberty signs: "pubic hair", moodyness, breast development, and sometimes oily skin but no breakouts. I know my mom was a late bloomer, but I just want to know when I will grow breasts. I am 11 and my mom said she wore a bra and stuff when she was 13. I don't want to wait that long. Will I grow breasts before the age of 13 or after.

You'll grow breasts when youre ready to grow them - it's as simple as that. We all develop on a different timetable. I know it's hard to feel like your friends are developing faster than you are, but it all evens out in the end.

You need to have the courage to be different; at some point in your life (and this may be it), you'll be different than those around you, and you need to be able to accept that - to accept the person you are.

Will you be wearing a bra by the time you're 13? I'd wager the vast majority of women in America asked themselves that at one point! Maybe, maybe not. But whatever happens, you'll get through it, and grow into a woman - like we all did. Take care- PJH
