HI, I was purusing this web site to find out about hair loss and chemo related to Taxotere. I just started a couple of weeks ago and will have four rounds. What cought my attention was your statement about having the bilateral mast, being young and having body image concerns. I can completely understand. I am 42 and also had a bilat a couple of months ago. I wanted you to know about the breast cancer center in New Orleans headed by Dr. Frank Dellacroce. They only do breast cancer and reconstructive surgery and I can tell you that their expertise is incredible. I had a skin sparing mastectomy and was also able to keep my "accessories". I can tell you that I have seen many of their reconstructions of people who had tradtitional radical mastectomies and were left with no tissue and massive sacrring. Their outcomes of the recontruction are second to none. Please visit their web site www.breastcenter.com to see their work. Your insurance may still be willing to pay for your continued reconstruction and would certainly be worth looking in to. Please let me know what you find out as my heart certainly went out to you after reading your comments. I am still in the middle of my surgeries but am so amazed and pleased so far. initially I was appallled by what I was seeing on the internet as far as other surgeon's work and knew there had to be a better way and after much searching, found Dr. Dellacroce and his team. They are passionate about thier work so please look in to it. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Warmest Regards from Colorado!~A.
