Just Diagnosed with Cancer? Chat with Experts

Friday, August 14, 2009 Scared 4 Good Reason asks

Q: Please help me: No lump 5 mos ago. Now fast onset, double in size 1 week!

Please help me: My oncologist and other doctors appear confused. I have a large breast lump (2 cm), mobile, wasn't there during my mammogram 5 months ago and it has doubled in size in under a week! I'm 52, never had children and have a bad family history with this from both sides. Very high risk. I can't sleep- I know how this type of cancer usually goes and all the gritty details, but this is very odd! Any ideas out there?
PS. I am on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs as prescribed by oncologist. Not working!  Jenny
