Hi Steu - Lymphedema is a result of surgery and/or radiation. The best treatment is physical therapy ASAP, once the patient is recovered enough to handle it. This will help prevent loss of arm and shoulder movement, which in turn will help prevent lymphedema. Aquatic therapy might very well be a part of a general physical therapy program. My recommendaiton would be for you to work with your surgeon/oncologist/radiologist to assess the situation and see exactly what therapy is needed, and when. And then go with the recommendaiton of the physical therapist, as to whether to include aquatherapy. Good luck - PJH
