Still producing milk two years after finishing feeding. Also itchy/slight rash. Cancer?

I had my last baby 3 years ago and breast fed for one year. However, after stopping, milk production came back, mainly in left breast. This breast is also itchy (on inside) and I have dermititis type rash on breast (not nipple). Took anti depressants for a year, but now stopped for 6 months and milk production/itching still there. Rash has improved by adding moisturiser. Is it just hormonal and how can I stop itching/milk production?

Hi - If the rash/itching are fairly recent - like, within the past month or so - then you should have them checked out by a doctor. Although it's unlikely, an itchy breast and rash can be a sign of a rare type of cancer, inflammatory breast cancer. Other than that, with the continued milk production, this does sound like a hormonal issue, as you say; have you spoken with your doctor about it? If not, you probably should; we're not qualified to give advice on issues beyond breast cancer. Good luck - PJH
