Hi - There's no evidence that smoking marijuana encourages breast cancer to grow. In fact, medical marijuana has been shown to lessen the side effects of chemotherapy. However, you'll definitely want to check with your oncologist about this. From now through the end of your active treatment, you need to be very aware of EVERYTHING that goes into your body, lest it interfere with your cancer treatment - surgery, radiation, chemo, or hormone therapy drugs. Don't worry about shocking your doctor; s/he's not there to judge, just heal. So do be sure to ask about marijuana at your next appointment, OK? Best of luck to you - PJH
