Q: inverted nipple, cause for concern?

I've recently noticed the nipple on my left breast has become inverted. Is this cause for concern? I'm concerned about breast cancer.

Yes, Diane - an inverted nipple isn't necessarily, but CAN be a sign of breast cancer. Please get this checked out ASAP, OK? Good luck - PJH

I know, Diane, anytime somehting suddenly changes in your breast - it's scary! I can't in all good conscience tell you "it's nothing" - it could be a cyst, it could be a fibroadenoma (non-cancerous tumor), or it could indeed be cancer. Or something else I don't even know about. You just won't know till you see a doctor and get tested. So make that appointment - the sooner you see someone, the sooner you'll be able to stop worrying, right? In the meantime, stay positive; MOST breast changes are NOT cancer. Good luck - PJH
