Hi - Please read our guide to mammograms for underserved women. Not sure about free mammograms being possible for teenagers, but it's worth looking into via. this guide. More than likely the lump your niece feels is a natural part of her breast development. Please read our guide to teen breast development for lots of helpful information, which will help her decide when/if she should see a doctor about this lump. Thanks for looking out for her - PJH

Thank you so much for your reply!  I'll do the research for my niece, she'll be home for the hoiliday.  Her grandmother, my mother is the only one that had a breast removed seven years ago.  I'm 52 and I have a mamm-gram every 6 months.

My niece's mother (my sister) died when she was 5 months old.  And between my mother and myself we've raised her.

I'm trying to hold onto my family insurance and my mother is on medicare.  So, I'm trying to some resources that will help her.

Thank you!

Sheila, you're a good woman. She's lucky to have you in her corner. I hope things turn out well for her - I have every belief that this lump will turn out to be a treatable infection. Best of luck to you - PJH
