Hi - Considering your age, and how long this has been going on (5 months+), it doesn't sound like breast cancer. Please read our post on nipple issues for more information. And next time you see your OB/GYN, do mention it; he or she might be able to pinpoint what's causing this soreness. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! PJH
definately not an expert...but found a small lump on my right nipple..I figured it was sore because I kept touching it to see if it was gone. I never missed a mammography and the last two years they suggested sonograms to ease concerns. After 6 months of check ups and sonograms every 3 months; my surgeon decided to remove it - family history of fybroid cysts...so wasn't taken too seriously. Except I have a friend Kathryn now in 4th stage cancrl for 3 years - been to Baylor, MD Anderson in Houston, so many clinical trials. etc. She begged me to just have it removed.
First biopsy showed cancer...second was lymph nodes check - one of five had cancer so next surgery was bilateral mastectemy - 11cm x 4 cm cancer mass.
I'm fortunate that they think they got it all...but don't wait..
The first lumpectemy was barley visible on the outside....but more importantly we found what was growing inside - undedected by sonograms and mammograms. Don't wait....we know our bodies better than any technology out there. Make an appt with one of the best know breast surgeons in your area...
