Just Diagnosed with Cancer? Chat with Experts

Monday, December 20, 2010 evelyn b asks

Q: I'm scheduled to have my expanders removed & implants put in next month. I am wondering how long recovery is. How long will I be off work? I work as an Occupational Therapist with a lot of lifting.

Evelyn, you'll have to get this information from your surgeon. Every woman is different, and every surgery is different. There's no "one size fits all" here... Between your surgeon and perhaps the physical therapy folks, they should be able to give you a good estimate of how long you'll be off work, given the job you do. Good luck with the surgery - PJH
