Q: I am looking for statistical information based on substantiated research to understand the reoccurrence of breast cancer if you take Arimidex or not.

Hi - Your oncologist should be able to give you the most recent statistics; and since doctors don't make these things up, the stats would come from "substantiated research." Be sure, however, you get the absolute risk, not relative risk; the two can be very different, and absolute is what you want to hear.

 

If you want to delve further into the subject on your own, check out PubMed, the National Center for Biotechnology Information's compilation of biomedical literature, which summarizes all the studies done and papers written as the result of clinical trials and other research.
