Just Diagnosed with Cancer? Chat with Experts

Q: Hi I have a lump in my breast, it seems more on than in the breast iykwim.

Hi
I have a lump in my breast, it seems more on than in the breast iykwim. It started off small but now seems to be bigger than a pea size but not as big as a small marble. It doesn't cause me any pain but if squeezed it will release some pus usually yellowish sometimes clear. It has been there for about 4 months & I just thought it was a normal pimple to start.
it no longer seems normal skin colour either, i'm very pale & it seems to be a darker patch which is not only raised but dry around the edges. I do plan on seeing a gp but with 4 children who I would rather not take into the surgery I wondered if anyone knew how urgently I should treat this (yes yes I know waiting 4 months poss wasn't the most sensible idea).
Thanks

Hi Helen - I think, by now, if it was breast cancer it would have progressed more markedly; though I'm not a doctor, so can't say that definitively. However, it's obviously something that needs attention - whether a boil or abscess that just won't quit, or...? I'd suggest calling the doctor and describing your symptoms to the doctor or a nurse; then ask how soon you should be seen. They'd have a better handle on this that we would. Good luck - PJH

Thanks for the help. I will book in & see the doctor, I'm sure it will turn out to be nothing. Can be a bit worrying when you have already tested positive for a cancer gene (not relating to breast cancer as far as I know).
