I am currently taking arimidex. Can I color my hair on this drug? I have been on it for a little more than a week and already have some side effects, bone pain, fatigue, some nausea.  I have been affraid to color my hair since my diagnosis and it is graying quickly (age vs. stress). Please help.

Laura, always ask your oncologist, but I see no reason why you couldn't color your hair. It's not like the color seeps into your system... Hope you have fun picking out a color for "the new you"! Smile PJH

Hi Laura

Ive been taking Arimidex since Jan 2009 after my chemo & radiotherapy finished. I had my first trip to the hairdressers in June for a semi perminant colour & I did a home perminant colour 2 weeks ago myself with no problems. The side effects I encounter on Arimidex are joint pain, mainly in the mornings the doctors seem to think it could be tendence and not bone related. I suffer whats best described as trigger finger, when I clinch my right fist my index finger stays down.[ Ditch the stress. ]
