Many women report having an easier time with their mammogram if they avoid caffeine for 2 weeks ahead of time; they feel it makes their breasts less tender. However, there's no scientific endence supporting this, and none supporting any influence of caffeine on how a mammogram is read. What you SHOULD avoid are talcum powder and deodorant (with aluminum); both of those have the capability of showing up as suspicious "flecks" on your mammogram. Good luck - PJH
