Just Diagnosed with Cancer? Chat with Experts

Wednesday, April 06, 2011 RD asks

Q: I have a pimple thing on lower left breast. There's no pain, and if I go w/o a bra for a week or so,it goes away but leaves a tiny red spot.My bra rides up across that spot and thats when it comes back

Its been doing this for around 10 months now. I bought better fitting bra's and had no problem for several months and now its started up again. There's a seam in the bra I was wearing that goes right across that area. Should I be concerned?

It sounds pretty clear that this is some kind of irritation problem with your bra.  If it goes away completely with a better fitting bra, then I think you don't need to worry.  However, if you think that the spot is always there and gets worse when it is irritated, then you might need to check with a doctor.  This doesn't sound like a breast cancer symptom, but constant irritation of a mole or spot might cause it to be infected.  Definitely call it to your doctor's attention at your next appointment.
