Hi Lisa: It's hard to pin an exact number on this; there are so many variables, including your stage, your Scharff score, etc. In general, when the cancer is confined to the breast (e.g., no lymph node involvement), the 5-year survival rate is about 98%. If it's spread to the lymph nodes, the 5-year survival rate is about 84%. This is assuming no advances in treatment, which is a bad assumption, as there are ALWAYS advances in treatment. So the survival odds are EXCELLENT. Good luck - PJH
