Q: ive stopped taking tamoxifen 6 months ago after taking it for 2 years. now im back taking it for a week. what kind of short commings would it have to have stopped it for this period?

I don't know what an interruption in using tamoxifen would do to your chance of recurrence.  The studies probably would have all been done based on continuous use.  Your oncologist may have a sense of the effects of temporarily stopping based on his clinical practice.  Your oncologist will also know what your original chance of recurrence was, and that would be a factor in knowing how much harm may have been done by stopping for six months.  I would suspect that whatever harm might have been done would be reversed by going back on tamoxifen, but your oncologist would be the best person to ask.
