I was on arimidex for apprx. 1year, and started taking mini stroke.feel much better now

My Dr. decided to take me off arimidex , and i'm not on anything, I had a mastectomy 3Years ago, it was very close to the chest wall ,so i received 16 radiation treatment,last month after an inhance MRI, they think my cancer could be back. Is there something else I could take as a hormonal blocker I'm 65 white female.Thank you

Jtt, sounds like you must be ER/PR positive, based on the breast cancer treatments your doctor chose. We cannot confirm or diagnose a recurrence on this site; only your doctors can do that. But, in preparing for this possibility, you might ask your doctor about trying Femara or Aromasin, both of which are aromatase inhibitors, like Arimidex, but might be better tolerated by your system. Who knows, maybe they might even try putting you on tamoxifen, which has recently been shown to be effective even if it's not taken till up to 9 years after your diagnosis. I'd ask your doctor about any of these. Good luck - PJH
