Q: 50 yrs old, leakage from the breast nipple (clear) not pregnant

I am 50 yrs. old I have noticed some clear leakage from one of my breast, it appears on my clothing. I can't be pregnant what does this mean?

Many different factors can cause nipple discharge including hormonal imbalances, infection, and cancer.  Even non-breastfeeding women often have some discharge, especially if they squeeze their breasts.  Clear leakage is less likely to be a cancer symptom; however, any change that lasts longer than a menstrual period and that affects only one breast needs to be checked out by a doctor to determine exactly what is causing it.  Read this article on nipple discharge for more details.  I hope you get good news when you see the doctor.
