Q: I am a 40 yr old woman. My left breast has been swollen for over a month. Its very painful. My nipple has a strange feeling. Itchy/pinching. I can feel a large ball in there. What could this be?
Lisa, you could have an infection; mastitis; a very painful cyst, or possibly even breast cancer. Whatever it is, it's lasted longer than a month, and it qualifies as a breast change; so you need to see a doctor ASAP, OK? Best of luck to you - hope you get this treated and taken care of soon... PJH
