Can someone answer Sandy? I answered below, but I'm not able to provide her with the depth of information she wants... Sandy, I still think you need to speak to your doctor. PJH
Thanks, Laura - I'm definitely going to print this out and study it till I understand it. I've heard they've trained dogs to be able to smell lung cancer very accurately - in people in the early stages who don't know they have it. The dogs can smell it on their breath. Isn't that amazing? And Dr. Susan Love is working on a test that could identify very, very early breast cancer via aspiration of fluid from the nipple - kind of a breast pap smear, something you'd have done on a regular basis. So there are all kinds of promising diagnostic tools being developed. PJH

this article explains the use of blood markers for cancer pretty well. i had to read it a couple times to get it. it does show what kinds of receptors need to be present and when the test is used. apparently (if i am understanding it) there are markers used for all different cancers, breast being one. And it is not used on all, mostly only when there has been a spresd to the nodes, when mets are detected or when its multiple cancers present. this is my nderstanding and thats not always correct. having a dr explain if this artical is not clear, sence it was written in medicalease i think will give you answers much easier to comprehend. I just wanted to give you the option of the article, im definately not an expert. we are all seeking someone to tell us we will be ok. it would be great to have a simple blood test to do that.
