Oh, one other thing - I'm now also using a 'see-through' bar of soap.  It's like a Neutrogena bar, but it's a no-name brand I found at the supermarket.  I'd guess it's a glycerin base.  It seems very mild, but I still don't use it anywhere I used to get the boil-type thing.  Just plain water.  And I don't think soaping up and showering off with clean water will avoid the problem.  I think once the whatever's-in-the-soap/bath-product gets on the skin, the reaction starts.
