My name is Lindsey and I would like to get myself and my family involved in raising money to fund breast cancer research. My mom passed away 8 years ago when I was 16 and her mother ( my grandmother) passed away when she was 14, both of breast cancer. For these reasons and many more, I would love receieve information on how to get involved and how to raise money for this cause.

Hi Lindsey: I'm so sorry about your mother and grandmother. Kudos to you for wanting to be proactive about finding a cure. Read our summary of all the various breast cancer walks. You'll find a lot of helpful info. there. And Iknow you're aware that you yourself are at increased risk... so be diligent about knowing what your breast normally feel like, and noting any changes, OK? In fact, when you're older, you might want to consider genetic testing, to see how much you might really be at risk. Best of luck - PJH
