Stephanie, usually breast cancer lumps are painless. And especially if you find lumps in both breasts, they're probably from another cause; it's very, very rare to find cancer in both breasts simultaneously. You may have fibrocystic breasts, which can be a chronic condition that's sometimes painful. Or, if the lumps/pain come and go with your period, it could be hormonal. Probably a good idea to see the doctor, find out what they are and if there's anything you can do to relieve your discomfort. Good luck - PJH
