sore throat with femara?

I have been on femara for one week for hormone receptive breast cancer. Today I have a severe sore throat with redness. Could this be a side effect from the femara? thanks...jodi

Good morning Jodi, have just done a search for you....Femara side effects sore throat.....and sure enough that is one of them....However could be you have a cold coming on...best check with your Doctor just to be sure...

thank you for your reply. I am trying to get into my primary dr. but he hasn't called back. I would like to first see if it is and infection before bothering my onchologist. I have been exposed to sick grandkids for weeks and they have had a sore throat also. At least I like to know the possibilities out there so I can be on alert for problems. Hope fully it is not the femara! I will post it if is though. Did anyone else have a sore throat with taking femara??
