Sorry to hear this. My first attempt at reconstruction had a simular problem. The plastic surgeon had to remove the expander and cut away the dead/dying tissue/skin. I then had to wait 6 mos. to a year before I could try again. After a year I had my other breast removed and did immediate reconstruction on both sides, during which my left side had a small area of dying tissue. I had to use this ointment that ate away the dead tissue, which left me with a quarter size hole in my chest. A few weeks later my expander became visable, so my doctor popped it and pulled it out. Then he took me back into surgery to close up the hole. I had to wait 3 mos. before he'd put another expander in.
I know how frustrating this all is, but you have to go at your body's pace. It took me 4 years and multiple surgeries to finally complete reconstruction.
