Hi - This can be very tricky, unfortunately. The American Cancer Society has some excellent information about, legally, what insurance companies can and can't do concerning cancer. The gist of it is, if you're self-insuring (i.e., not part of a group plan offered by an employer), depending on the insurance company, they may choose to never cover you; to not cover the part of you that had cancer (how ghoulish does that sound?); or to cover you after a certain waiting period. It's all up to the individual company. So, sounds like you've got some research to do. Best of luck to you - PJH
