Is it most likely that if I have a brownish discharge from my brest that I do have brest cancer?
I have had a mamogram and a sonogram and nether one showed any signs of a lump or cancer. I still have a brownish discharge from my left brest when it is squeezed. It does not come out by it's self. I have some pain and sometimes it itches. I ask my doctor to refer me to a surgen. I have an appt. comming up on the 13th of Nov. I am scared and don't know what is going to happen, or what to expect the day of the appt. can any one tell me what I might expect?
There are many causes for nipple discharge, and most of them are not cancer; in fact, some nipple discharge is normal. Breast discharge is most worrisome when it occurs spontaneously (no squeezing). Because your discharge is on just one side and accompanied by pain and itching, it's good that you have taken the initiative to have this checked out. I hope you get good news when you see the doctor.
