Q: Trying to help my mom to heal from cancer post mastectomy

My mother has gone through mastectomy 2 months ago - this was the Dr. diagnosis:

Invasive duct carcinoma, grade 3, with massive necrosis vascular invasion and cacifictions and ductal cacinoma in situ, solid and comedo types, high grade.

Today she sadly infomred me that there seems to be another lump next to her right breast which is probably infected as well - i.e. the treatment failed

Now we are trying to figure out on the next step, the Dr have refered my mom to go trough more chemo sessions to avoid the invasion.

I am not sure whether this is possible and would like to know what options my mom is facing now, and how can she be cured?

Has the doctor confirmed that the new lump is cancer?  There are many different types of lumps.  I had a new lump appear while I was on chemo, but it turned out to be benign.  Even if this new lump is cancer, the chemo can probably take care of it.  The doctor will have many tricks to help your mother get well.  Do you live close enough to her to go with her to the doctor to make sure that all her questions get answered and that the doctor explains exactly what he plans for the next step?
