hi my name is Nondumiso im a 23 year old young woman , i recently noticed a change in my right breast,lumps that are a bit painful with brown thick sometimes watery discharge thats sticky , im realy worried and i dont know what tis could be please help.

Nondusimo, while you're very young to be seriously worried about breast cancer, it's good that you take breast changes seriously. Symptoms such as you describe are almost always due to either hormonal issues, or an infection of some kind; our post on nipple discharge is a good resource, and I suggest you read it. If this discharge continues longer than a few weeks; and certainly if it worsens noticeably, you'd want to see a doctor to find out what's causing it, and get some treatment if necessary. If it stopped when you had your baby, then that points even more strongly to it being caused by hormonal fluctuations. Since you're worried, why not see a doctor? Perhaps there's an outpatient clinic attached to your local hospital that you could access, if you don't have a regular doc you see... PJH

PJH thank you so much for your response my worry is that ive had this discharge for quite sometime now, for a year it stoped after i had a baby but now its back again.
