Just Diagnosed with Cancer? Chat with Experts

Saturday, December 11, 2010 Nicole asks

Q: I have a small white potruding bump on my nipple. What is it and how do I get rid of it?

It`s like a milk blister but I`m a teenager and have never had a baby. It sort of shrinks under hot water but never goes away. It`s been there a few months and makes me really self-conscious. It`s not painful at all. It ooks sort of like a white pimple but definitely isn`t. I`ve never tried to pop it either.

No idea what this is, Nicole, but please don't stress over breast cancer. Your chances of having breast cancer at your age are less than 1 in a million. Since this is bothering you, why not see a doctor about it? You sound like you're old enough to go to a clinic if you don't want to deal with having your parents make you an appointment... Another option would be your school nurse, if you're still in high school. She's there to help - why not access her? Good luck - PJH
