Audrey, you don't say what treatment you had. Surgery, I assume. Chemo? Radiation? All of these will knock your body for a loop. You absolutely need time to recover; I'd say give yourself a full year, at least, more likely two years, before you start to feel like you're totally over the effects of treatment.

It sounds like you have lymphedema, with that swelling in your arms and chest. Please ask your oncologist to refer you to a lymphedema specialist; they're usually part of the physical therapy department.

Can you eat red meat and chicken? Yes, you CAN eat whatever you want. Understand that a lower-fat diet, one with little red meat, will help protect you from a recurrence.

You and I had very similar diagnoses; 2.5cm tumor, one lymph node, invasive lobular. I'm 7 years out, and feeling great. Don't worry about whether a PET scan or CT scan is better at detecting new cancers; you've been treated, released, and you're back on the road to good health. Think positively; live a healthy lifestyle; and just go forward with your life. You're going to be fine - believe it. Good luck - PJH
