Q: i feel a burning sensation on my left breast and a lump underneath my nipple what could it be?

Hi Edna - This could very well be two unrelated symptoms. For more informaiton on the burning sensation, please read our post on breast pain. As for the lump underneath your nipple, if it's a new lump - e.g., it hasn't been there for years - please make an appontment with your doctor. All breast lumps should be taken seriously, even though the vast majority of them are harmless. You need to rule out cancer, and the only way to do that is with some diagnostic testing. So - get on the horn, and get it started. Good luck - hope you feel better soon. PJH
