Q: relative just diagnosed with a breast tumor as aggressive breast cancer. What can I research or do?

Relative just got diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer due to a tumor found on the side of her breast.  Until we find out the stage or severity of it, what can we research or do?

You've come to the right place, Erin. This site is a wealth of information. Please start on our page called The First 48 Hours. Until you know more about your relative's diagnosis, there's not much more you can do other than absorb the information that links from this page. BTW, beware of unscientific terms like "aggressive" - she'll need a lot more tests, and the results of her pathology report, before the level of her cancer's aggressiveness can truly be ascertained.

Best of luck to you all, as you go through this. Please be aware that breast cancer simply isn't the "death sentence" it used to be; the vast majority of women diagnosed with breast cancer go through treatment and go on to live helathy, happy lives. Hope this will be your story! PJH

It's stage 3a. 1 lymph node. Want to do chemo to reduce then try to take out.  Also mentioned homeopathic first?

I'd be leery of homeopathic treatment first, on its own - I'd advise her to combine homeopathic with her regular treatment, if her oncologist approves. But substituting alternative treatments for mainstream will usually raise your risk of recurrence and lower your risk of survival. PJH
