Hi Sarena - In general, breast cancer is painless. And muscle tears, as you know, are quite painful, and can hurt for a long time. Please read our post on breast pain; perhaps it will help you ascertain whether you need to worry or not. Please read our post on fibrocystic change, too; it's a condition that causes (benign) lumps in your breast, and is very common in women your age. I hope this information helps lessen your stress, and I hope you feel better soon! PJH

can breast muscles get torn? my ribs also hurt plus back pain is also there . The lump doesnt doesnt feel round it appear at upper portion and it is like a coin flat and movable too i guess. I dont feel it as a golf ball or round cyst Alhamdulillah. And wen doctor examine my breast she doesnt feel anything? One more thing i want to ask is it necessary to examine breast wid one hand up in the air ???

Any muscles can get torn, but there are no muscles in your breast; just fat and connective (fibrous) tissue. A moveable lump is usually a cyst of a fibroadenoma; and if the doctor doesn't feel anything, then probably you can relax? There are good instructions for doing a breast self-exam at the American Cancer Web site, cancer.org. Go ahead and study those instructions - they should help. PJH

Sarena, it sounds very much like you have fibrocystic change. If you haven't read our post on that yet, please do. And yes, fibrocystic change is "normal" - that is, many women have it, and it's not dangerous. As for your torn muscles - I'm sorry, I just don't know that much about other conditions. Please ask your doctor about it - and don't leave the office till you understand the answer, and have gotten all the information you want and need. Good luck - PJH

What should i do for fibrocustic change? as female dr says she doesnt feel anything wen she examine my breast this change doesnt bother me much Alhamdulillah. My last question is this is it possible that someone can have a glandular structure of breast naturally? and my last qusetion is that i heard cancer is painless disease?

Hi Sarena - Unless you have a cyst that can be drained, there's nothing you can really do about fibrocystic change. Can you have a gladnular structure of your breast (dense breasts) naturally? Yes. Breast cancer, before diagnsis, can often be a painless disease - though not always. Good luck - PJH
