Hi Sarena - In general, breast cancer is painless. And muscle tears, as you know, are quite painful, and can hurt for a long time. Please read our post on breast pain; perhaps it will help you ascertain whether you need to worry or not. Please read our post on fibrocystic change, too; it's a condition that causes (benign) lumps in your breast, and is very common in women your age. I hope this information helps lessen your stress, and I hope you feel better soon! PJH
