Hi Crystal - Probably the pain doesn't have anything to do with it. But if this lump has appeared recently - i.e., you haven't had it your whole life – keep your eye on it. If it doesn't disappear within a week or two; or if it gets larger, or your nipple and/or breast seem infected (hot, red, itchy, swollen, painful) - then best to see a doctor and find out what's up, OK? Good luck - PJH

Crystal, if the lump has been there longer than a month, you need to go see a doctor to have it checked out.  Sometimes little lumps can come and go as hormones change over a menstrual cycle, but a lump that doesn't change or that gets worse over the course of a month needs checking out.  Don't panic; most lumps are benign.  I hope you get good news.

I havent noticest it for a while and then it started to get bigger. Its been there for about two months. I had my daughter a year ago. Do you think it could be from that? Both my aunts have had breast cancer and my grandma died from cancer. Everyone is saying its nothing.

Crystal, best to see a doctor about this, since it's been there for 2 months, and doesn't look like it's going away. I don't think it would have anything to do with the birth of your daughter a year ago; best to have it checked out, OK? PJH
