Lyrica is a new drug for neuropathy pain. They are also advertising it for fibromyalgia pain. Talk to your doctor about how it would compare to Neurontin or some of the other drugs used for neuropathy to help you. Neurontin is available in a generic form and could be quite a bit less expensive depending on your insurance. I have heard from some people that they have been very pleased with their results from Lyrica.

I've been on Lyrica for about a year for the nerve pain/damage done when I had a mastectomy & lymph nodes removed. It helps quite a bit. I actually have feeling again on my chest, though I still get some tingles in my armpit area. I take it with some ER pain medicine and for the 1st time in 3yrs that pain has been under control. It does carry risks of side effects - mostly drowsiness.....and it can cause bladder control problems. Those are the two biggest side effects. But after you adjust and been on it a few months all that goes away. Though everyone IS different. But I do recommend asking. It cost me $30 a month as it's the high end on my co-pay, but it's worth it!
