They're the same drugs - the only difference might be that one might be taxol, and one taxotere, which are variations on the same drug. They also might be given in a different sequence. As for which is "better," each will be best for women with a certain diagnosis; your friend's oncologist will have examined her pathology report closely, and developed a treatment plan based on that information.
